The most meaningful achievements in pharma are measured by the difference they make: for patients, healthcare professionals, customers, communities and the health systems that support them.
The Reuters Events Pharma Awards 2027 recognise the people, teams and organisations turning insight into action. From tackling health inequities and amplifying patient voices to advancing AI, medical education, collaboration and breakthrough innovation, these awards celebrate work that delivers demonstrable, lasting value.
This is not about activity for activity's sake. It is about identifying a genuine unmet need, creating a thoughtful and effective solution, and proving the impact. Your opportunity to give exceptional work the recognition it deserves, share what others can learn from it, and inspire the industry to go further.
This award recognises a pharmaceutical company, team or initiative that has transformed the way it understands, engages and creates value for its customers. Â This award is not intended to recognise engagement activity for its own sake. The winning initiative will show how it has gone beyond conventional communications or promotion to improve the customer experience.
The winner will demonstrate a genuinely customer-centric approach: identifying a meaningful unmet need, listening carefully to customer insight, and translating that understanding into an engaging, useful and measurable solution.
This award celebrates an individual or team within a pharmaceutical organisation that has successfully driven meaningful internal change to improve how the business operates, collaborates or delivers value for patients, customers and colleagues. The winner will have shown leadership, resilience and influence in turning a recognised need for change into a practical, sustainable improvement.
The winning entry will demonstrate a clear understanding of the challenge or opportunity, strong stakeholder engagement, effective implementation and measurable outcomes. It should show not only what changed, but how the nominee inspired others, embedded the change within the organisation and created value that can be sustained over time.
This award celebrates programmes and projects that have helped to reduce health inequalities and had a positive impact on the health of a social, economic or geographic population. The winner of this award will show clear evidence that a specific health inequality was understood and addressed - and that this had a positive impact on the health of the group and therefore contributed to health equity.
This award celebrated your impact of AI systems in helping to solve challenges across the pharmaceutical industry. The award honours organisations and initiatives leveraging AI to revolutionise patient care, diagnostics, treatment planning, drug discovery, and healthcare delivery. Recipients demonstrate exceptional innovation and impact in improving health outcomes and driving efficiencies within the healthcare ecosystem.
The winner of this award will be the creator of a pharma-pharma or pharma-NGO, Association or Non-profit initiative which clearly brings a new proposition to either HCPs, payers and/or healthcare systems, creates new value and redefines what is possible in our industry with a degree of lateral thinking. There is no limit to the number of participants, however each collaboration must involve at least one biopharmaceutical company. Please indicate in your entry how you were able to leverage the unique qualities of each partner, and how the collaboration has been managed and presented for maximum impact.
This award is for an initiative that has raised the profile and visibility of a disease, cause, health concern, population or treatment. We are not looking to reward mere advertising (no matter how good it is); we are seeking campaigns which have provided additional value, shown creative ways to raise awareness, gathered further reach in an additional way, clarified scientific concepts for HCPs or patients, or made things easier or clearer. Ultimately, we are looking for an authentic effort to educate and further the understanding of something that matters, and that has achieved success in doing so.
This award is for an original product, product enhancement or invention which has the potential and, ideally, early traction to provide significant impact on a patient population. Perhaps it is a newly launched drug showing strong initial results, a new process showing real promise, or a new category or class of treatment that will redefine standard of care in an area. The winner doesn’t need to demonstrate commercial success, but needs to show that the product has been launched or will be launched imminently, and that it has disruptive potential with identifiable value for patients, caregivers or health professionals. The winner will be a genuine pioneer, bringing something novel and meaningful to the life sciences industry.Â
The winner of this award will be an individual who has demonstrably worked to reduce patient burden from within a pharmaceutical company, and/or champion a patient community or cause. The winner should be able to show how their actions have advanced benefits to patients or amplified the patient voice within the business; they may be in a patient-facing role or be a ‘back-office ‘unsung hero’ who has driven change that will ultimately address unmet patient needs.
The winner of this award will be a project or initiative that has advanced patient outreach and engagement, through digital approaches, post launch. It should demonstrate an iterative approach to product development by identifying and addressing real health requirements prior to and during implementation. The winning project will have met a strong patient need and been managed to an outstanding level, making a quantifiable, positive impact on patients.Â
This year we are excited to showcase as much of the pioneering work the industry is creating. We will be creating articles highlighting all the finalists work which will be sent to our entire database. Each winner will be announced on stage at our flagship event hosted in Barcelona in front of an audience of 1000+ top industry delegates.Â
