Circularity Europe Forum 2025

Transform Healthcare Together: Where AI Meets Patient Priorities

Details

There's never been a more important time to collaborate and network with your peers, in the same room.

At this pivotal moment, as Europe embarks on a transformative journey with the Clean Industrial Deal mobilising over €100 billion to support EU-made clean manufacturing, the transition to a circular economy is not just essential for our planet but also a strategic advantage for businesses across the continent.

On 20th October, as part of Reuters Events flagship Sustainability Europe event, we will host the inaugural Reuters Events: Circularity Europe Forum. This unique, intimate and exclusive half-day forum will be the premier gathering for 50 senior business executives who are spearheading the adoption of circular economy principles within their organisations.

Circularity Europe will provide actionable insights on how businesses can leverage the circular economy model to not only meet regulatory demands but also to drive innovation, address supply chain risks, and enhance resilience and competitiveness. We will highlight how companies are integrating circularity into decarbonisation strategies and explore the opportunities of aligning with the EU’s Circular Economy Act he targets of achieving 24% of materials circular by 2030.

Please send enquiries about attending our two-day Sustainability Europe 2025 (21-22 October) flagship event, to claire.tillotson@thomsonreuters.com.

ROUNDTABLE 1: Connected Vehicles

The International Energy Agency projected that by 2030, around 30 percent of all cars on the road are expected to be battery-powered electric vehicle. As EV production scales the greatest challenge continues to be driving range and lowering cost. This roundtable discussion will explore battery solutions, value chain integration, and infrastructure and charging developments.

14:10PM – 15:15PM

ROUNDTABLES

Demonstrating the profitability and scalability of circularity

·        Gain proven metrics and compelling arguments to financially justify circular initiatives, securing critical investment even in challenging economic climates

·        Acquire practical strategies and frameworks to overcome implementation hurdles and successfully integrate circular models across your entire organisation

·        Work with your peers to discover how to forge valuable partnerships and leverage emerging trends to accelerate circularity, ensuring both profitability and long-term impact

Some of the key promises made in connection with SDV's are the potential for increased profitability and new business models. Whether directly - e.g., through FoD or data business - , or indirectly, through improved customer experience and individualization; whether top-line, through additional revenue, or bottom-line, through savings and process improvements - expectations are high. In practice, however, there are still huge challenges to leveraging this potential. The roundtable will discuss potential issues and approaches to monetizing SDVs.

15:15PM – 15:35PM

BREAK

Coffee and networking

15:35PM – 16:00PM

FIRESIDE CHAT

Closing the loop: Why formal recycling chains still lag in the EU & UK

·        Unpack the systemic gaps in Europe and the UK’s recycling ecosystems, from fragmented collection and pre-processing to uneven traceability and offtake

·        Explore why policy ambition hasn’t yet translated into scalable, end-to-end circular supply chains across materials, with silver and electronics as key examples

·        Learn what’s needed to move beyond pilot projects: harmonised standards, feedstock certainty, and verified flows that support industrial demand and cross-border trade

Title

The race to the SDV is currently characterized by focus on the Car OS and innovative features. And by a speed competition of the in-house development departments of the OEMs. What gets less attention, but is perhaps even more important, is the competence to manage complex software architectures at scale and to operate them cost-efficiently. And what role external partners can play in this. The roundtable will discuss important topics of collaborative value add architectures, make & buy, potential of standard & open-source software and the importance of integration and operation competence.

18:45 (EDT)

ROUNDTABLE 2: Connected Customers

Consumers are demanding EVs with longer ranges, particularly when EV infrastructure is not where it needs to be. To deliver vehicles with long range there are a number of considerations from battery type and cost to safety and efficiencies. As OEMs want to shift the conversation with consumers away from “range” and toward “efficiency” we will explore and analyse the considerations needed when strategizing ‘Range VS Cost’

16:00PM – 17:10PM

WORKSHOP

Closing the gap on circularity: Rethinking how we produce and reuse our resources

·        Discover how to move beyond basic recycling to redesign products and value chains, enabling truly systemic circularity that drives deeper resource efficiency and cost savings

·        Discuss what actionable strategies can be made to forge essential cross-sector and supply chain collaborations, equipping you to overcome implementation barriers and scale circular initiatives across complex corporate ecosystems

·        Leave with a clearer understanding of how to leverage policy shifts, emerging innovations, and data insights, empowering you to build a more resilient and forward-looking resource strategy that accelerates your company's transition to a net-zero, circular economy

17:10PM – 17:30PM
