Nagendra Bandaru, or Nag as he is more popularly referred to, is President and Managing Partner of the Enterprise Futuring Global Business Line (GBL) at Wipro. Enterprise Futuring, with a footprint of over 135,000 associates spread across 40 nationalities globally, includes the highly complex services lines of Digital Operations & Platforms (DOP), Cybersecurity & Risk Services (CRS), Enterprise Applications (EA) and Data, Analytics & Intelligence (DA&I), as well as global practices of Experience and AI. Nagendra’s work expands Wipro’s capabilities while delivering greater value and support to enterprise customers managing revenues of USD 4.65 billion and successfully driving profitable growth at industry leading margins. He also plays a pivotal role in giving shape to Wipro’s AI strategy through grassroots-led innovation.
Under his leadership, Digital Operations added USD 1.1 billion organic revenues over eight years, successfully transforming it from a US-centric call center profile to a global, industry-led core operation and AI-enabled business. He was instrumental in shaping game-changing large deals for Wipro, including Alight (USD 1.65 billion), BPaaS deals and front-ending several marquee wins. Nag was instrumental in the land and grow of the largest growth in accounts such as Google, Facebook, and UHG, with industry-leading margins while kickstarting Wipro’s large deal program in 2000 with landmark wins. This resulted in single year revenues of USD 100 million in Telecom against stiff competition from the Big Five.
Nag also played a key role in creating the first healthcare BPaaS platform, and played a critical role in managing platform plays such as HOLMES, Harmony, Base and several other IPs for Wipro. He played a key role in shaping the Wipro Digital foundation, turning around ailing vertical businesses such as insurance and telecom. Nag has contributed significantly to the investments strategy of Wipro Ventures. Wipro Ventures has 50% portfolio in Cybersecurity and AI. He was instrumental in the successfully integrating and shaping M&A that includes HPS, Rizing, Infocrossing, Edgile, and Opus.
Prior to this, Nag has played key roles in the Cloud and Infrastructure Services, Telecom, Insurance, Financial Services, and eCommerce businesses at Wipro and has several years of experience in both the US and Europe in Sales, Delivery, Practices and P/L management. Nag began his career with Tata Consultancy Services in Securities and Capital Markets. He is passionate about talent and has been instrumental in shaping many successful leaders in the company.
A member of Wipro’s Executive Board, the apex leadership forum of the company, and the Forbes Technology Council, Nagendra brings more than 30 years of experience as an industry leader and completed 25 years with Wipro in October 2023.
Nagendra is passionate about developing technologies to empower people and businesses, and he works to foster STEM skills and professional development in students. He is active with several trusts working to promote American students’ welfare, encourage young entrepreneurs, and enhance the American education system. He is also involved with many charities in the U.S. and the U.K. as a volunteer and a contributor.
He is an avid reader and plays several sports, and is a fitness fanatic.
Nagendra holds a Master of Law (LLM) from the Amsterdam Law School, University of Amsterdam, with a specialization in international trade law. He also holds a Master’s in business administration from TAPMI, Manipal, a Bachelor of Law and a Bachelor of Science (Physics).
He is based in Plano, Texas.
