This webinar has been developed in partnership with Arva Intelligence and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD).Â
If we’re going to achieve the scalability of environmental markets for carbon impacts in our complex supply chains, it's critical that we first examine what makes a successful relationship. On the back of a successful program initiated by Nestle Purina, we bring a farmer, co-op, and technology partner together to understand key lessons learned as we seek to hit +1m acre scales for agricultural impact markets.
The farmer voices are often lost, so we’re delighted to showcase how this study delivers replicable lessons learned for CPGs, Co-ops, and Farmers alike.
Key talking points include:
· What underpins successful relationships for each level of the agricultural supply chain, from farmer to CPG and beyond?
· What have the practical results and bottom-line improvements been of associated with the successful development of trust between parties?
· Looking ahead, what are the critical lessons learned that can be replicated to achieve
+1m acre scales for carbon and wider environmental impacts markets?
· Finally, what whitespace still exists for further strengthening of partnerships, governance, and technological capability?
This webinar has been produced to provide insightful action points for farmers, CPGs, and Cooperatives.
Key outcomes we aim to deliver include:
Farmer Perspectives & Outcomes
· CPGs understand a little more about the challenging economics associated with farming.
· CPGs appreciate the value in recognizing existing sustainable practices as a catalyst for implementing more.
· The farming community understands why CPGs are paying for sustainable practices and the expected duration of such programs.
· The farming community understands the effort required to participate in regenerative ag programs.
Cooperative Perspectives & Outcomes
· CPGs recognize that farmers are an essential part of the solution and trust is fundamental.
· The farming community understands the effort required to participate and how cooperatives partner to assist them.
· CPGs understand the importance of recognizing existing practices as a catalyst to creating new ones.
· Co-ops understand why and for how long CPGs are funding the regenerative transition.
· Co-ops understand how a cooperative helping its growers to transition to regen ag will benefit over time.
CPG Perspectives & Outcomes
· All parties understand that there is a win-win pathway for farmers and CPGs to collaborate in a manner that enables sustainability and profitability targets to be met and for the environment to benefit in the process.
· CPGs now appreciate that a pathway to scaled transition is possible and wholly verifiable.
· The cooperative and farming communities appreciate the value that CPGs place on long-term relationships.
· Intra-value chain actors and peer CPGs now appreciate the value in coordinated scope-sharing efforts to help farmers make the transition.
