More than one in five people in employment globally have experienced violence and harassment at work, says a new report from the Lloyd’s Register Foundation World Risk Poll.

- Collect more regular robust data on work-related violence and harassment at the national, regional and global level to inform prevention and remediation laws and mechanisms, policies and programmes, as well as research and advocacy.
- Extend and update mechanisms to effectively prevent and manage violence and harassment in the world of work, including through occupational safety and health policies and programmes and labour inspection systems.
- Increase awareness on violence and harassment at work, including its different manifestations, as well as on social stigma and attitudes towards such a phenomenon with a view to changing people’s perceptions and behaviours perpetuating the various forms of violence and harassment, particularly those based on discrimination.
- Enhance capacities of institutions at all levels to deliver effective prevention, remediation and support services to build people’s trust in justice and to ensure victims are not let alone in handling these unacceptable incidents.
