Join us on Tuesday, May 12 at 3:00PMÂ SGT for a live session presenting key findings from the Reuters Institute report, Understanding Young News Audiences at a Time of Rapid Change.
The session will be introduced and moderated by Mitali Mukherjee, Director of the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism at the University of Oxford. Amy Ross Arguedas, Research Fellow at the Reuters Institute, will present the report findings.
Drawing on more than a decade of research, the presentation will explore how young people aged 18–24 engage with news, how their habits and expectations are evolving, and what these shifts mean for journalism today.
The session will then move into a panel discussion featuring Tristan Werkmeister, Social Media Video Reporter at Reuters, alongside independent news creators and professionals working across the wider news creator ecosystem in the APAC region. Together, they will reflect on the report findings and discuss how young audiences are being served in practice, bringing perspectives from both traditional newsrooms and creator-led approaches.
