AI and Sustainability – Driving the Path to Net Zero

Details

There's never been a more important time to collaborate and network with your peers, in the same room.

As we stand at the intersection of technology and sustainability, the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in driving progress toward net-zero commitments has never been more crucial.

However, alongside its potential, AI presents significant challenges concerning its environmental impact. This executive roundtable, hosted by Reuters@ Climate Week in conjunction with IBM, brings together influential stakeholders from across industries to engage in an open and candid discussion.

The goal is to delve into the complexities of integrating AI for sustainability, address the challenges head-on, and collectively explore actionable solutions that can pave the way for a more sustainable future. By uniting thought leaders and decision-makers, this forum aims to uncover the root challenges and identify strategic approaches to leverage AI’s power while minimizing its ecological footprint.

ROUNDTABLE 2: Connected Customers

In today’s fast-paced business landscape, the race to achieve net-zero commitments has never been more critical—or more complex. As organizations face mounting climate risks, advanced technologies like generative AI are stepping into the spotlight. This cutting-edge technology is reshaping asset lifecycle management, driving operational efficiencies, and offering revolutionary tools to reduce carbon footprints and enhance climate resilience.

Hosted at Reuters Davos HQ, this event— Reuters@ Davos and Leaders on Purpose—brings together global industry leaders, innovators, and decision-makers at the forefront of sustainability and technology. Join us as we explore the transformative role of generative AI in combating climate challenges, uncover actionable insights, and spark new ideas for driving sustainable growth.

ROUNDTABLE 1: Connected Vehicles

The International Energy Agency projected that by 2030, around 30 percent of all cars on the road are expected to be battery-powered electric vehicle. As EV production scales the greatest challenge continues to be driving range and lowering cost. This roundtable discussion will explore battery solutions, value chain integration, and infrastructure and charging developments.

Consumers are demanding EVs with longer ranges, particularly when EV infrastructure is not where it needs to be. To deliver vehicles with long range there are a number of considerations from battery type and cost to safety and efficiencies. As OEMs want to shift the conversation with consumers away from “range” and toward “efficiency” we will explore and analyse the considerations needed when strategizing ‘Range VS Cost’
